That might be so: the same problems from a generation ago are more or less still around, though there's been some changes. Residential schools are gone[last one closed, 1996 not too far from me], but some metis day schools & #legacyofabuse schools ( https://traffic.libsyn.com/secure/ovpod/194_Final.mp3 ) replaced them. There's now homeless shelters and warm-up places whereas a generation ago people would just freeze [sometimes aided by the police, see https://traffic.libsyn.com/secure/ovpod/NS_OMNI_FINAL.mp3?dest-id=564994 ]. My city is *much* more diverse, and with that a *lot* of different kinds of people have a softer landing upon fleeing here from wherever it is in the world they come from thanks to existing support structures here that simply were not here a generation ago. And correspondingly; the amount of leverage to the rest of the world is significantly better, since no matter the global problem - someone around here knows someone directly involved. The amount of hops is way less than it used to be.

i can have an impact on the darkness around me: I am not giving up on that.

i intend on bringing light here to the extent I cam capable.
