Old world farming:
Degenerates soil, fights against nature, debased by easy money (aka fiat)
New world farming:
Regenerates soil, works with nature, rebased by hard money (aka #bitcoin)
🌱
On a degenerative fiat standard, farms require more and more inputs and those inputs are getting exponentially more expensive over time
On a regenerative bitcoin standard, farms require less and less inputs and those inputs are getting exponentially less expensive over time
🌱
In the short term, regenerative practices and Bitcoin will allow farmers to outcompete
In the long term, degenerative farms on a fiat standard will be depleted to nothing and die off
🌱
Regenerative Bitcoin farmers work less each year while creating more because nature is doing more and more of the heavy lifting
Degenerative Fiat farmers work more each year while creating less because the money is being debased and potential of nature is being suppressed
🌱
Harness the abundance of nature with regenerative practices
Harness the abundance of technology by adopting bitcoin
Send this to a fellow farmer and help them transition to regenerative farming on a #bitcoin standard
DMs open to any fellow farmers who want to connect 🫶🏽

Deep dive on the benefits of worm farming
—
Vermiculture is the cultivation of earthworms to decompose organic waste and produce vermicompost, a natural and very potent soil enhancer
Building and growing a worm team on your farm is a low time preference endeavour that begins with creating ideal conditions for worms to thrive, reproduce, and break down organic material into nutrient-rich castings (worm manure), which can be used to enhance soil fertility
Key principles of vermiculture:
🪱 Worm Selection
Optimal worms for vermiculture are Eisenia fetida (red wigglers)
These worms are efficient at decomposing organic matter and thrive in confined spaces
Red wigglers are preferred because they tolerate a wide range of conditions and are surface feeders, making them ideal for composting
🪱 Substrate and Bedding
Worms need proper bedding material to live in and move through
Shredded paper, cardboard, coconut coir, and straw all work great
These materials are both moisture-retentive and aerated, providing a balanced environment
The substrate should be neutral to slightly acidic (pH 6-7), as worms do not thrive in highly acidic or alkaline conditions
🪱 Feedstock
Worms feed on organic waste like fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds, tea leaves, and other plant-based materials
Avoid meat, dairy, oily foods, and citrus, as they can create foul odors, attract pests, or alter pH levels too much
Feed worms in small, frequent batches as overfeeding can cause anaerobic conditions, leading to unpleasant smells and harming the worms
🪱 Moisture Content
The moisture level in the worm bin is critical
Worms require a moist environment to breathe through their skin, but the bin should not be waterlogged
Aim for moisture levels around 70-80%, resembling the dampness of a wrung-out sponge
🪱 Aeration and Temperature
Vermiculture requires aerobic conditions. The worm bin should have proper ventilation to allow oxygen to flow, as anaerobic conditions (lack of oxygen) will harm the worms and produce foul odors
Ideal temperatures for worm activity range from 13-25°C
Worms will slow down or die if exposed to extreme heat or cold so managing the bin’s temperature is essential
🪱 Harvesting Vermicompost
Vermiculture produces vermicompost (a combination of worm castings, partially decomposed organic material, and bedding)
After 3-6 months, depending on the setup, the compost is ready to be harvested
This is done by separating the worms from the finished compost, either by moving them to a new section of the bin or using light and food to attract them away from the compost
🪱 Maintaining Worm Population
Worms reproduce quickly under favorable conditions. A healthy worm population will double in size every 60-90 days
Managing their population by expanding the bin or distributing worms into other bins ensures they don’t overcrowd or deplete resources
🪱 pH and Odor Control
Maintaining a neutral pH is important for worm health. Adding too much acidic food waste (e.g., citrus, tomatoes) can lower the pH and harm the worms. To balance pH, powdered eggshells or crushed limestone can be added
Proper management of moisture and feedstock ensures the bin remains odor-free. If odors develop, it typically indicates a problem, such as overfeeding or poor aeration
🪱 Pest Management
A well-maintained vermiculture bin should not attract pests
However, common pests like fruit flies, ants, or mites can sometimes appear
Proper waste management (burying food waste beneath bedding, avoiding overfeeding, and keeping the bin moist but not too wet) helps minimize these issues
🪱 Sustainability and Soil Health
Vermiculture contributes to sustainable agriculture by recycling organic waste into valuable compost
It reduces reliance on chemical fertilizers, enhances soil microbial life, and improves soil structure, water retention, and nutrient availability
—
Summary of vermiculture benefits
- Produces vermicompost, a rich, organic fertilizer
- Enhances soil fertility by providing essential nutrients
- Increases microbial activity in the soil
- Encourages sustainable waste management by recycling organic waste
- Reduces the need for synthetic fertilizers, promoting ecological balance
—
A thriving worm team on your farm is a major boost to soil health and crop yields
Done right, vermiculture is an effective, low-cost, method of enhancing soil health by cycling organic waste back into usable nutrients

suddenly OP showed up in the thread. Here are questions for you
1) why are people and podcasters so quick to advertise a non fully free non fully foss software?
2) why when we ask "where is bitcoinj-core", most people disappear and don't reply, like the interactions I've had so far on nostr and X?
3) Are you & others contributing anything by omitting this important fact? Maybe shedding light on it would invite more java devs to rebuild it, but this fact was hidden and censored, what would be the reason?
My contribution is that I CHECKED the code, which actually I WAS checking already, I was studying samourai's code for my own personal projects and decentralized knowledge makes it more resiliant, which then a month ago I noticed a missing piece, then this is released and it seems I am the ONLY person to notice... where are those devs that you mention? I see zero efforts to make a full source available, but 100% effort to release it as is, and for the podcast crew to advertise it as soon as possible.
What we need is a movement that is pro-privacy and PRO-FOSS at all costs, no exceptions. Samourai has been working on bitcoin since 2011 or something, I started working on this for 2 years max. They had plenty of time to distribute copies of codebases, write in many different languages, write docs for new devs, not just focus on java lmao, but they don't have the FOSS spirit. I could also get into the "where is OXT?" or "where is KYCP?" discussion. But I don't have time to rebuild someone else's work for free from scratch, unless you pay me for it I already have a job and family to take care of, plus interesting how it's "oh you noticed? well rebuild it yourself!" why not set the same standards for whoever built the new fork and force them to release APKs only after THE FULL SOURCE is available, since they are already working on it?
I myself risk my life and my family's because I live in a dictatorship, they banned X, telegram and Rumble so far for supporting free speech. And this is why to me it is FOSS or nothing. If I had the complete source code that made samourai, I would've reimplemented the wallet and whirlpool and made it work without a centralized coordinator that could be shut down and seized, even while living in a poverty state with zero funding/donations.

@npub192k…43u7 You’re just a woman who drinks beer and still thinks you can win Jack Dorsey's heart. I will tear off your mask. You came to Nostr a year ago, deceiving everyone into believing you lived in the USA, but in reality, you live in Brazil. You used every voodoo spell you found online to win Jack Dorsey’s heart, but you failed. You filled your home with purple candles and voodoo dolls to achieve your goals.
You accused me of being a gold digger, but in fact, you were the one searching the internet for magic to make Jack fall in love with you. Then you fabricated stories about knowing him from school and that you had accidentally slept with him. All of this is a product of your imagination, as Jack doesn’t even like your posts.
Your game is lost now. You act like a great intellectual with your posts, but please don’t pretend you’re making some significant discovery. I know where you keep your voodoo dolls.

Time for good old fashioned rant with some hard truths about the state of 🇨🇦 and a message to my fellow Canadians
—
Canada is one of the most beautiful places in the world
Magical forests
Abundant freshwater
Abundant energy
Awe inspiring mountains
Yet it has a critical flaw:
Complacent, docile, vulnerable people
—
In general, Canadians are kind, caring and honest people
While this gives us a reputation for being “nice”, the downside is that most people in this country are obedient, docile and vulnerable to tyranny disguised as virtue
The political parasites have ravaged our people and the only cure is taking responsibility for truth and refusing to acknowledge legitimacy of those who claim to be in power
The criminals who wear suits and play theatre in parliament claim they know better than the rest of us
The few are attempting to rule over and abuse the many
They use fiat currency to steal from us and control us
They use propaganda to distort reality
—
A resistance is forming
A group of courageous sovereigns who refuse to kneel to false masters
A group of warriors who think for themselves and maintain strength of mind and body
They are armed with truth and they protect their property with encryption
—
To all my fellow Canadians: join the resistance
Stop using their defective money and save your time in #bitcoin
Forge a healthy body and mind
Stop listening to the propaganda (aka mainstream state sponsored “news”)
Stop hoping for handouts and take responsibility for your own life
It’s time to reclaim this beautiful country

Hassan Nasrallah, the recently assassinated leader of Hezbollah, played a crucial role in the ongoing tensions between Lebanon and Israel. Hezbollah, a political and military entity, governs southern Lebanon and is part of the national government. It possesses a robust paramilitary structure that manages key areas in the region. This year, the group's leadership has faced significant challenges, with Nasrallah's immediate successor and other commanders being killed. Despite these losses, Hezbollah functions through independent cells, allowing it to retain its operational strength.
I believe they are heading towards an expanded conflict.

As long as the government has the keys to the Fed's infinite money-printer, politicians will NEVER be incentivized to fix the problems they're jawing about on TV.
They will print, and print, and print some more, since it requires less work, appeases their voter base, and the populace's brains are too clogged up with grains & seed oils to realize they're getting progressively poorer from it each year.
None of this gets fixed until we #EndTheFed. #Bitcoin achieves this by offering a peaceful, non-violent alternative, that operates permissionlessly and can be accessed by anyone on earth with an internet connection. It is the PERFECT antidote to the worldwide cancer of fiat money.

Bitcoin: A monumental achievement for humanity
In a world where financial systems are controlled by centralized authorities, Bitcoin stands as the most revolutionary breakthrough of our time
It isn’t just digital currency; it’s a global movement, a new way of thinking about wealth, power, and freedom
⚡️
Why is Bitcoin so monumental?
As a decentralized network, Bitcoin allows individuals to take back control of their money without the need for banks or governments
It’s censorship-resistant, secure, and operates on a transparent, peer-to-peer network where anyone can participate
For the first time in history, we have a currency that is trustless - meaning we don't need to trust any single institution to ensure its value
Instead, Bitcoin is based on mathematical proof and immutable code
But the real power of Bitcoin lies in its hardness
Unlike fiat currencies, which can be printed endlessly, Bitcoin is capped at 21 million coins
This limited supply makes it deflationary, preserving purchasing power over time, and protecting wealth from inflationary erosion
⚡️
Why is hard money important?
Hard money is the foundation of true economic prosperity
When a currency can be manipulated, debased, or inflated, it dilutes the wealth of its holders, reducing the incentive to save and build long-term prosperity
Fiat currencies, backed by nothing but government promises, lose value over time as more and more money is printed, eroding purchasing power and fueling inequality
Hard money like Bitcoin, on the other hand, fosters economic responsibility and abundance
By preserving value, it incentivizes savings, rewards productive work, and creates a stable environment for innovation and long-term growth
Entrepreneurs, investors, and creators are empowered to build without fear of their hard-earned wealth being siphoned away by inflation
⚡️
Bitcoin’s fixed supply and decentralized nature make it the ultimate form of hard money
It allows individuals across the world—regardless of nationality, race, or economic status—to access a form of money that maintains its value over time
It’s a lifeline for those in countries suffering from hyperinflation and economic instability, offering financial inclusion and a path to self-sovereignty
In a future where sound money like #Bitcoin is embraced, we could see a world where wealth is built on innovation, trust is restored in economic systems, and abundance is created by unleashing human potential, rather than printing endless currency
Bitcoin isn’t just money—it’s a tool for human freedom, an enabler of prosperity, and a monumental achievement for humanity

"The true horror of existence is not the fear of death, but the fear of life. It is the fear of waking up each day to face the same struggles, the same disappointments, the same pain. It is the fear that nothing will ever change, that you are trapped in a cycle of suffering that you cannot escape. And in that fear, there is a desperation, a longing for something, anything, to break the monotony, to bring meaning to the endless repetition of days."

Clear values serve as a North Star to orient our actions
Deciding what matters most is a one time decision that makes all subsequent decisions easier
Our family has 4 values:
1. Health
2. Integrity
3. Kindness
4. Play
—
These values are the bedrock of our family and of our business
They permeate everything we do
They are the standard to which we measure ourselves
They are the aspirational values we hold ourselves and each other accountable to
—
Health: always take care of ourselves first. This ultimately comes down to self respect and awareness. Care for our body, mind and spirit like it is the most important thing in the world because it is the most important thing in the world
Integrity: be honest with ourselves and each other no matter how hard it might be. Tell the truth. Keep promises, honour our word and accept full responsibility for our actions
Kindness: always act with Love. Be friendly, generous, considerate, merciful, forgiving and tolerant. Never be more harsh than needed, never create unnecessary suffering, give each other benefit of the doubt
Play: life is a game to be played, not a job to be worked. Have fun, create beauty, don’t take things too seriously
—
To our fellow Nostriches:
What are your values and why?

yeah, I actually live in a remote area in Brazil so less crime and easier in the pollution but end up having the usual issues of remote countryside areas, bad internet, power outages, too few hospitals, ...
our countries, like South Africa and Brazil, and others like it, have the opposite of a money issue, the problem is no matter if infinite amounts of money come in, the people are not educated enough to know what to do. Not only by electing politicians with zero managements skills but also the people themselves do not know what to do with money, they do not know how to invest, what is entrepreneurship, so nothing progresses, zero prosperity, etc. So live like animals in the end
And your post is a good example that the people in Ukraine are continuing to building businesses even in their current situation, aka the generators or the bungee jumping, adapting and overcoming, the "libertarian feel", which drives progress in the end

Farmacy > Pharmacy
The root cause of disease and illness isn’t a lack of synthetic drugs, therefore, pills cannot be the solution
The foundation of health is daily consumption of nutrient dense foods grown naturally in healthy soils
Said another way, a lack of nutrient dense food is a foundational root cause of the disease epidemic, therefore, food is a primary element of the solution
Food is the real medicine
Nutrient dense, seasonal, local, naturally grown food offers our body the information and building blocks required for healing
The path to better health begins with adding more visits to a local Farmacy and subtracting visits to the Pharmacy
Rebase your health with food

Argentina is moving up my bucket list of places to visit. Quotes from Milei’s speech at UN today.
“The UN has become a multi-tentacled Leviathan that seeks to decide how each nation should live."
"We reject the 'Pact for the Future'—it is nothing but a socialist blueprint for control."
"Freedom is the only path forward for nations; we must resist any system that curtails it."
"Socialism designs a world it can't achieve, and when it fails, it represses the people."
"Argentina will lead an agenda of freedom, not submission to globalism."
"We must empower individuals, not centralize power in bureaucratic institutions."
"Freedom, free markets, and individual rights are the pillars of a prosperous society."
"We reject the collectivist agendas that destroy wealth and enslave nations."
"Austerity and economic discipline are the only roads to true independence."
"Long live freedom!"

Requirement 1: It needs to be easy to set up for someone with minimal bitcoin knowledge, or has experience with crypto but never used Lightning before
Requirement 2: It needs to work without a VPN in New York (and the US in general) – this means NO Strike, Cash App, ZBD, Primal, Phoenix, WoS, etc.

A team that is too deeply integrated into a movement is just a cluster of followers. It isn't capable of independent or novel ideas, and won't add much to the overall effort, beyond what the individuals would each add.
It has to make sure everything will be approved by the movement, particularly the leaders, and will just emit more groupthink and make incremental changes. It's a mere spin-off, not an independent organisation.
Spin-offs are useful, but if you only have spin-offs...

Yeah, a team is an attempt to maximize the efficient use of available resources. It's something inherently capitalistic (a group leveraging their joint labor and the means of production, to increase productivity, in the hope of eventually increasing profits).
A movement is just people imitating the behavior of someone prominent and paying them homage, in the hopes that some good things will spring out in return.
I've compared it to a cargo cult. If you write in ALL CAPS or cheer the appropriate OpenSats post, and jump through their hoops, the lightning gods will make Bitcoin rain down on you. And that really does work, so it'll just stay that way, forever. Only a few oddballs, like us, will even try to do their own thing.
Teams, tend to be self-directed and have their own ideas of what they want to do or where they want to take their projects. They will resist submission because they have their own internal leadership.
There are no teams in a cargo cult.

Fable of Freedom
Once upon a time, in a vast forest, there was a beehive ruled by a powerful bear. The bear controlled everything the bees did: when they could go out to collect nectar, how much honey they could store, and how much they had to give to him. In return, the bear offered them "security" and "protection," although the bees often felt trapped and unable to decide about their own work.
One day, a young and curious bee named Liberta discovered a clearing in the forest where flowers grew abundantly, and there she met other creatures living differently. Among them was a swarm of wild bees that weren’t under the control of any bear or ruler. These bees collected nectar at their own pace and stored their honey without anyone taking it from them. The wild bees lived under a simple principle: each bee owns its own labor and cooperates voluntarily.
Intrigued, Liberta decided to tell her hive about this new world. Some bees, tired of the bear's rule, chose to follow Liberta to the clearing. There, they discovered that by not depending on a central authority, they could work together more efficiently. The exchange of nectar and honey was done freely, without anyone imposing arbitrary rules.
The bear, seeing that some bees were leaving, tried to threaten them, saying that without his control, they wouldn’t last long in the forest. However, the free bees, though they initially faced challenges, soon thrived. By owning their own labor and collaborating voluntarily, their hive became stronger and more resilient.
The moral: Freedom brings challenges, but also opportunities. Just like the bees who chose to live without the imposition of centralized power, people who choose systems like Bitcoin or Nostr, based on decentralization and voluntary cooperation, can prosper without relying on centralized authorities. In Austrian economics, individual action and free markets are valued, where people exchange freely, just like the bees in freedom.

so the issue with the samourai code is that it got lost when their servers got taken down, then someone tried to recover part of it and published it as "samourai archive" on github: https://github.com/Archive-Samourai-Wallet/
But the problem is, it is possibly not entirely up do date, we can't tell because there is no official source to compare to, and not everything is present, for example this library called bitcoinj: https://github.com/Samourai-Wallet/bitcoinj is from their old github and hasn't been updated in 6 years, which is when they migrated to their own servers before they got taken down, and this library hasn't been found anywhere since, so the new Samourai fork is using code that is a pre-compiled library instead of a public source that can be built by anyone. So this is a red flag for me, my conspiracy theory is this makes it seem samourai themselves are back building this as if no one would notice that part of the code is missing and they are the only ones that have it locally, but overall it's a red flag until the source of bitcoinj-core is released.
But if you just want to compare the rest of the wallet's code in general to find something sketchy they made it easy by making all of their changes into a single commit, so one could get the first commit in the repo, which is supposed to be "clean samourai", and compare it to the recovered samourai code: https://github.com/Archive-Samourai-Wallet/samourai-wallet-android then if there are zero differences it's a proper fork and you'd have to then check the changes they made in the other commit but people said they are fine so far, some UI work and the config changes to remove samourai servers + switch to ashigaru servers

If an npub has no follower from within my ‘n’ degrees of followers, why am I ever seeing it in my Nostr client?
Is this just a compute problem? If so, let’s start running DVMs to solve this.
Does such a simple solution not work?
Let’s say you are brand new to Nostr. For you to get connected, you’d need to:
1. post a few high quality notes (anything that’s not spam)
2. follow people you like
3. wait for one npub who has followers to follow you.
As soon as 3 happens, you’re good to go. If a spam account gets past this part, you just need a few people to report them and then your client shows you that should be skeptical of this person.
The question then becomes, how do you find new people to follow when there is a flood of potential fake profiles waiting to be discovered alongside new real people?
Best case solution, you meet anyone in real life who has a Nostr account and they follow you.
Worse alternative is bootstrapping from legacy social media.
There will probably be markets in the future selling you access to Nostr networks (pay me to follow you and add you into my WoT). You could be anonymous this way.
Maybe AI search tools will be able to pick out some authentic profiles just by the content they post.
Moral of the story is - the incorrect solution here is to KYC or scan eyeballs for “proof of human”.

““Son of man, speak to your people and say to them, If I bring the sword upon a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and make him their watchman, and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people, then if anyone who hears the sound of the trumpet does not take warning, and the sword comes and takes him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. He heard the sound of the trumpet and did not take warning; his blood shall be upon himself. But if he had taken warning, he would have saved his life. But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that person is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman’s hand.”

Nostr is being pushed as 'impossible to censor,' but that’s a stretch. It started as 'censorship-resistant,' which was honest. Now it’s verging on dishonesty and could mislead people—activists, for example—into thinking it’s like a cypherpunk project that protects them, when it doesn’t. Assange protected his sources and paid for it; with Nostr, the activists could end up paying the price.
On the technical side, this narrative is harmful too. Developers hesitate on basic spam-blocking to avoid being seen as anti-free speech, leading to degraded feeds and frustrated users. Censorship resistance shouldn't be a psy-op we play on ourselves for the benefit of spammers. Nostr improves on the status quo by preventing platform lock-in and making it harder to cancel legit users, and that’s already a valuable step forward.

I was a unique case of homeschooling because I was homeschooled through 8th grade then went made the decision to go try high school because I was worried I might be stupid compared to other kids who I knew through sports, clubs, community, etc… My parents made it clear that it was my decision to make, so I made it.
Turns out I was not, in fact, stupid relative to the other kids… I was able to skip through math classes in high school and graduated valedictorian while being a three-sport athlete all four years. I discovered that public school is absurdly easy, because everything caters to the lowest common denominator. The focus was on time spent (in your desk, doing homework, etc) vs deliverables. Put another way, it was an “hourly” mentality instead of a “salary” mentality.
That said, I had some really great science and math teachers in high school that I am still very grateful for. They were also the type of teachers who thought administrative mandates were bullshit and just wanted to focus on teaching.
Things I liked most about being homeschooled:
- I finished all my work in 2-3 hours in the morning and spent the rest of the day outside — I was outside constantly.
- I was done when I was done. There was no “homework” because it was all at home.
- I could do my work from anywhere, or work ahead a few days bitcoin if needed. There were no arbitrary constraints.
- It taught me to work on deliverables.
- I read a shitload.
- I was never uncomfortable around “adults.” They were just bigger people to me. I showed everyone respect, but I was perfectly comfortable and happy hanging out with adults even as the only kid (plus my sister).
- I got to do a bunch of random shit because I my schoolwork itself took very little time.
On the subject of random shit, one of my favorite memories is when my mom set me up with a legit blacksmith to apprentice for a day. He’s the first person who taught me about Fibonacci. Seriously brilliant and badass dude. Made a huge impression on me and I will never forget it.
I also just played in the woods constantly. Started fires, built forts, used knives and axes and guns from a young age.
In terms of things I disliked, the only real thing was the worry that I was not going to be as smart as my peers at public school. Benchmarking was hard. It’s the whole reason I decided to go to high school, only to find out that a lot of people are complete morons, with zero initiative, drive, or grit.
I also spend a day a week at a Montessori school for a year or two. That was neat. Zero “schoolwork” was done. We just built shit and cooked shit and played outside.
My parents also helped found a small charter school (about 10 kids). We would get together once a week and had a couple tutors who came in. I had an awesome Mennonite algebra tutor named Edith. We got on swell.
Anyway, highly recommend homeschooling, and will be doing it with our kid(s). There are infinitely more online resources available now than there were when my parents did it.
