I should go back and try 3.7, it's been a few weeks, and my methods have evolved as well. o3 has been good at research, but as a non-driving code-pairing partner, doesn't do well. it might be better with tool use, but it is cost prohibitive.

mostly Gemini 2.5 pro. it is generally amazing at most things, I just have to follow behind it with a mop.
what you say makes sense. and in the context of arenas, the scorers aren't committing that code or and having to interact with it, or iteratively improve it.

when using AI for coding, I find that it tends to add comments with wreckless abandon. just keeps adding them, before blocks of code, inline with things like //<---- this is the change, or commenting out code when it's trying to fix something. and all of that adds up and obfuscates the real code, making it hard for the AI to reason about the code, and sometimes making it impossible for the AI to even edit the code.
I have attempted to add linter rules, adding notes to the project rules, adding directives in each prompt even, but the comments just never stop.
can anyone confirm they see this same behavior? is it a problem for you?
has anyone been able to stop the AI from adding comments?

I used it in a speech synthesis pipeline to go from markdown to html, then in beautiful soup to remove any formatting, to get plaintext for reading. markitdown works well so far in that role.

It's one of his best. I always felt like he was sneakily describing what real life is. people can basically do what they want. some realize this, some do not. and some people use the cover story of civilization to do crazy things.

there's a lot of chatter about how to think about follows.
I don't have a strong opinion about that aside from seeing as a form of gardening my feed. I tend to it and try to get more of what is productive and good, and less negativity and nonsense.
but the most important aspect I keep coming back to is separating the concept of "follow" from "trust".

sure thing, I'm currently working on some small apps around articles, and implementing ui functionality, so it matters to me right now. using go backend server, templ for html templating, htmx, and tailwind.
I'm in the middle of implementing sever sent events for dynamic loading of content, so I can thoroughly sweep all relays a person publishes to without holding up loading the page.

"The Library of Babel" by Jorge Luis Borges

is the the story that got me into Borges' work. it's an incredible work of fantasy that illuminates much about humanity by casting us into a strangely different universe, that of the infinite library of hexagonal rooms, each filled with books that contain seemingly random and non-repeating strings. the people aluded to in the story have different and illustrative takes on the situation.
I will not be the first person to compare the library to the world hashes. the world's bitcoin private keys are all printed in this library, the true identity of Satoshi is there, along with proof of the falsity of his true identity.
it is an even easier leap to apply the library to nostr. the whirl of hashes all mapping to meaningful information, it's the great book that explains the meaning of the library that some where searching for. there actually is meaning in there.
and like all bitcoin private keys, every note that can ever be composed is listed in the library.

In trying to reason about the #nostr protocol, I used https://repomix.com/ to concatenate the contents of both https://github.com/nostr-protocol repos into a single file and pushed it into a claude project.
now I can ask it questions like: which Kind is appropriate for storing lists of lists? It said curation lists, `30004` would be best.
I then asked what if I want to have a mixed list of npubs and other lists? it answered that `30000` follow lists were more flexible than curation lists.
do those answers seem reasonable?
in any case, it's a nice tool for thinking about the protocol.

it's not standardized, but I'm still testing and monkeying around with it, trying to see if it makes sense. and to me, it does.
the RSS => nostr part is handled at https://drss.io
the nostr => RSS part is handled at https://npub.blog
an RSS feed maps to an npub. each "item" from the feed is turned into a kind `30023` note. the content is converted from html to markdown.
since I posted the above, I've made a change for podcasts, that being I no longer use the `mp3` tag mentioned above, which is not a standard, I found the nip-92 `imeta` tag. I add one of those with mime-type `audio/mpeg` and the url to the mp3.
one could publish a podcast by uploading an mp3 somewhere and then publishing an article that serves as the description for that episode, title, published on, etc, and include that mp3 link in the imeta tag, and if you directed someone to the npub.blog/<your npub here>/rss they can subscribe to that podcast.

it is. but I wonder if this is universal, or more likely for people with sensory-integration issues? some find it hard to concentrate on a task, like writing code or reading for comprehension, with music playing (worse when there are lyrics). which makes sense to me, interfering streams of linguistic input to parse.

I can understand if the anwer is "yes", as there are many technologies which seem antiquated compared to the nostr-way, but they may be crucial bridges to onboarding people and content.
I personally look forward to the day when I will only encounter email as a historical curiosity.

I'm experimenting with turning arbitrary npubs that have published articles into a blog-like website, including RSS feed. if those articles have an imeta tag attached with type "audio/mpeg", and a URL to an mp3, it will become a podcast.
the idea is that a podcast can be a collection of articles with URLs associated with them.
try pasting an npub in a see what comes up. this is only the thinnest of thin vertical slices, so go easy on it. this is pre-alpha messing around.
