It wasn’t until I was 40 that I had two surgeries to make me feel normal and allow me to hear in stereo. The first surgery was cosmetic; I received a Medpor device, which is basically a plastic ear form they insert under my skin and facia tissue.
The surgery was supposed to only take 6-8 hours, but due to my previous surgery at 3, there was a lot of scar tissue they had to deal with so instead it took 10 hours and I had to stay overnight.
