I know this is a terrible story, but it eases my mind to think that there wasn't anything we could do.

Everything dies, and our society wasn't going to live forever.

I'm simply trying to contribute as little as possible to the mess: no kids, plant-based diet, no car or flying(*), etc.

(* - I am being forced to fly, one time, for my job, because a landslide took out a train line. I haven't flown in many years, and hope never to again.)
