That's an authentication (cross-domain single sign-on) link. It has nothing to do with nomadic identity. You would click that link if the ZERO-click authentication didn't work for some strange reason. You rarely if ever need to click that link.
We call that OpenWebAuth (OWA) or "magic-auth".
Nomadic identity is different. That's when your identity is cloned onto two or more instances and either or both can be used at any time, because all your data (connections, settings, data, posts, files, everything) is mirrored to your nomadic clones in near realtime.
We treat them as one person.
You could also just migrate (like Mastodon) or use the nomadic channel as a backup, and you can script the backup processes if you just want to maintain your own archives and if you don't trust the instance admin to do it).
