Yes, intranets do suck in terms of usability.
But there are lots of things on intranets/wikis/KBs that people have spent considerable time trying to get right. I’ve written internal docs that deal with serious stuff where nuance and detail matters—security, financial, legal and privacy issues, disaster recovery procedures, incident reports, fiddly infrastructure etc.
The prospect of shitty hallucinating chatbots half-digested, out-of-context chunks of it back at people is… unsettling.
