trying to think about the network and what matters here. there are some principles that will drive a coherent solution, but they are hard to say exactly ahead of time. I look back at the block size wars, and think of all the excellent selection that happened, many of the wrong ideas had a lightning rod to gather around and we could see what mattered. what's something that people will argue strenuously about, but get wrong?
