It sounds like someone in your town needs to start a non religious org to help people. I live near the largest city in Alabama and there's a fantastic organization here that recently raised enough money to build a large new facility with showers, huge kitchen and dining area, offices, and space for people to relax, etc. I give them money, and I bet people where you live would give to a similar group.
