Good morning #Nostr fam
This morning's trail steps were a bit of a drag @ss event. Not sure I'd even call it a jog.
So def going to be a couple doses of #coffee to kick off the day. It's going to taste good, but it really doesn't matter. It's going to serve as more of a fix then a Tuesday Treat.

Make the today you just a wee bit better then the yesterday you. That's all it takes. We can handle that....Right? #LFG 💪🏾

Blabber brain done!

🌞☕☕☕ (until maybe 10am'ish)✌🏾👍🏾👏🏾💜🫂

#GrowNostr

Yes, maybe - depending on where we’re going
I’m nervous about how much the bad guys are looking at it and coming for it…

>What are the parameters that relays have for WoT?
>Does it take into account activity? Posts? Replies? Having a nip05? Having a lightning address?
>Cos these boys wouldn't pass that 🤔

Yes, i agree with you if they can take measures to consider using those into account before marking as the 'trusted' users candidate. But, they (nip05, lightning address) also makes another problem especially for genuine and common users who just starting a Nostr barely know anything.

I don't know fully (since haven't read yet directly from source code) how but probably only consider simple "follows of follows" as the basjc parameters and separate them by following distance. AFAIK, in filter.nostr.wine it use one degree of separation as WoT. In Iris, it uses multiple degree of separation until 4 layers. Different clients or relay(s) may have different implementations. Hopefully maybe Mazin, Martti can give us some better insight. Coracle and Nostur also have WoT. I haven't look the code yet. TLDR: Basic implementations of WoT is using "follows of follows" with certain degree of separation.

Heya, Duchess!

That's just me. Especially if I'm in a good conversation, that's just the thing that I prefer. It does make me an odd duck in many places on the internet which is especially strange since I'm a beaver, an entirely different species than a duck. But here we are... LOL

Lists are powerful tools. You've realized this, and others have not, or at least they don't appreciate the effort it takes to put together a good list. So, I think you're weird thing is akin to a superpower! Go you!

Since you are also putting thought and effort into this, it is the least I can do. You are genuinely trying to help me and I know I can use help, so I am going to take this in good faith and put effort into it to see what happens. The worst case is I have a very pleasant conversation with a lovely lady. The best case is that I do start to improve my life and health. There's really no down side, is there?

I do tend to be more oblivious than most, regarding myself. I have been trying 556 pay more attention to what I'm thinking and feeling, since I am sure that will help me to nip issues in the bud before they blow out of proportion. I can't say I'm good at that yet, but, it is something I know that needs to be improved for my life to also improve.

I am going to remain cautious about new growth. If it is uncontrolled, then growth gets messy and it may choke the life out of me, and I'd rather be on guard with pruning shears at the ready to trim things into a healthy balance.

You're welcome. And it really is my pleasure! You're delightful, deep, and insightful. It's a fairly heady combination!

I used to disregard people more readily, but one good thing about maturing (at least a little) is that I have come to accept that everyone can teach me something, even if it is not their intent. I also know I don't know too much, even if I do have hunches that I'm correct. Well, there are some things I am very convinced that I'm correct about, but it rarely makes sense to run around shouting, "I'm right and you're wrong, neener-neener!" Even if I am, no one is going to listen to that manner of purporting myself. So, reflecting on how little I know helps keep me humble, because the Lord knows I was anything but in my youth. I'm still not sure how anyone put up with me let alone looked me back then...

Being oblivious has its advantages. LOL! I'd never know if someone was interested in me if they didn't state that explicitly, and also probably repeatedly.

Yes, I did get you! But, in this case, is a positive thing. :) Being rooted in care abd understanding is not something easy to achieve, at least not consistently for most. I think that shows a real heart for improving others lot in life, not just by giving so much, but helping them realize that there is Igarashi much they can do to improve their own selves.

My ability to reflect on myself seems to diminish with the seriousness of the relationship I'm in. That's genuinely a concern of mine for any future relationship. I am more aware of it than I used to be, but I think that my future companion would also need to remind me, preferably without nagging, that I might be slacking on that effort at times. I do get caught up in the status quo, since I value consistency. Most can't stand that, but I like iteratively improving on healthy routines. (That's of the reasons I'm so darn good at my job.)

If nothing else, hearing from many sources that I should not give up on my hopes of finding a good life companion is refreshing and reassuring, even if it is a bit unsettling. (That's not always a bad thing, as too much settling is not good for anyone.)

I definitely am not unique in most of my struggles, and that is, I supposed, a comfort in and of itself. I am human, with human issues, concerns, fears, desires, and hopes. In that regard, I am normal, and as such, these things are solvable and fixable.

As for why I get so down on myself, it's mostly because I'm a thick sod. LOL! But, I will try to change that perspective bit by bit.

I repeat: You're welcome! Thank you for sharing yourself!

Free will is a frustrating topic to me. I've given up bothering to find deeper on that until I own a few other things first. Some philosophical topics make me throw my hands up in the air in disgust and want to walk away! LOL! But, yes, we have it and I can exercise my fair share of it, though, as mentioned before, it would be better to start moving the needle to the positive side of things, even if slowly. I'm glad to have a nostr friend like you! ❤️‍🔥🫂😊

Strangely enough, I'm usually a walking peace-purveyor. I've been told too many times that I am a pleasantly calming influence on nearly anything I'm involved with, most especially in person. That and I'm a huggable lump, and most people don't get enough hugs, so, I try to do my part to increase the hug ratio in the world. This is despite my inner angst, too. Why? 🤷 It does make for a more pleasant living experience, and with everything being so crazy, the world could use more peaceful interactions.

I served with a lot of good people that were abused by the system for no good reason and are now permanently disabled both physically and probably mentally.

I'm not comfortable sharing details of my time in service publicly, but if you would like to know more, I'm open to chatting about that cute other means if you wish.

Oh yes. 100% American. Fell for all the patriotic BS, thinking we couldn't be making the world a worse place, or doing whatever for less up reasons to advance agendas so people could pocket literal boatloads of cash as the expense of people's lives and will being. I have been completely disabused of all of those notions... But gosh, I was dumb.

There's a funny story to tell about how ridiculous the army is, and I might tell that some other time.

No, I haven't. I tend to like Guy Ritchie's movies, though. They are usually deep and have many layers to unravel.

The VA (The Department of Veterans Affairs) is the second most failed branch of the federal government, in my not so humble opinion on this topic. I'm... Just going to leave it at that since I'm getting too angry thinking about what to say. It's just not good.

WHEN you write your book, I will read it. Until then, I respect your desire for anonymity.

Ouch... That is rough, but, like you said, losing like that can be the only means to teach us what we need to learn sometimes. It still sucks to go through. *hugs*

I'll put that book on my list. Thank you for t recommendation.

Gosh, IG was hard to give up. I didn't care about FB or any of the other networks I've tried, but IG, even with the awful algorithm, was my favorite. Nostr is kind of scratching that itch, but, dang it it isn't a lot more wholesome! I think it helps being an early enough adopter to see how it's growing and being able to participate with people who really want to be here, before the pool gets diluted.

Yeah, I can cook. Nothing fancy, but, most things turn out well. I tend to prefer simple meals that require a minimum of cleanup since I hate washing dishes. Gosh, that reminds me that I got a marriage proposal over my cooking, once. It was in jest, but it's been decades abd I still laugh about that when I think of it. LOL!
I'm comfortable grilling and doing basic cooking stuff. I'm not much of a baker, though, I can handle some things well, but not as well as my sisters.

I don't know if I'm worth marrying just because of my cooking skills, but, it's one other arrow on my quiver.

I have not tried carnivore yet. I will, though, I need some time to figure out where to source my meat. If I'm going to do that, I'm not going to feed myself the cheapest Walmart stuff I can find. I want to get good quality meat to maximize the positive benefits and minimize the possible harms. I'm also going to have to wait until after the holidays. Say what you want, but, my family is sometimes exceptionally skeptical of some of the things I try, like intermittent fasting, which I've been doinDoing for, gosh, 4 years now? I'm going to enjoy the end of the year feasts as normal and then I'll try carnivore for at least two months. The one big issue is storage space. I have a small refrigerator and freezer, so, I can't just buy a 1/4 beef for myself. And no, I don't have room for a separate freezer. (Yet. Eventually, but that's going to take a lot of work for another project.)

Your proscription is simple, yet wise. Mind and body do have an effect on each other, for sure. I can't argue that, though I do wonder about the purported strength of one vs the other.

If I ever achieve a state of better physical health, I might change my mind, but, for now, I'm not sure I can agree with you.

I hear about young women who want to live a life that's not within the current norm, but I've yet to meet one IRL. I do think that if I participate in communities like this where there are people open to more liberty oriented lives that I may possibly eventually find a woman like that, but, I still think that's a very long shot

Is good to hear that you are enjoying your life as it is now. That's better than being miserable all the time! Having friends that are alike is also a boon. You are blessed, abd I pray you continue to be able live well.

A for a woman who can teach me to love myself, I'm trying not to scoff at the notion since nearly anything is possible. I just see the odds of that being vanishingly small. Maybe that is just my self-doubt speaking again.

What's your favorite ballet? I've never seen one in person. While I like much of the music, and am immensely impressed with the perry) physical talents of those involved, I have never really connected to story through dance. I'd pick going to a production of any Shakespeare (aside from Romeo and Juliette, because gosh that's so dang overdone and ebbed though it took me much too long to realize that he was writing it as a parody of young, idiotic passions, I still don't want to be subjected to I ever again), play.

A woman walking into my life would be a miraculous event. Highly unlikely, still.

Commendable or not, self-awareness will continue to be a struggle, and maybe even more so if I don't choose to n act with consistency on that awareness. I don't want to do the equivalent of yo-yo dieting when it comes to my mental well-being. health

Authentic, deep, meaningful conversations are the best way to build a truly lasting companionship, I think. There are other ways to build that, but, at least for a man and a woman to come to terms with each other in a productive fashion, discussing things at length and in depth is better than most other methods if attendees) agreements can be reached.

Hmmm... I am on a path, I just am not sure where it is going yet. I want to have a clearer destination so I may choose my steps carefully, but there are so many things in flux, I'm not sure of the best ways to get where I think I want to go n

This is certainly a long thread. It is definitely the longest I've seen that's not about something technical. LOL!

Again, thank you for your time. I very much appreciate that!

imagine not knowing how to tell your own family what's happening to you because it's so fucking psychotic to begin with. my eyes were open. when people talk in this hushed sort of way, trying to indicate that danger is lurking, it's because they, too, are afraid of...something.

it wasn't that difficult to interpret the gravity of it, I just didn't care and never cared. what's just gossip now is going to be shock later. like omg wow we did not know that this human being was "harboring" so much personal information which he was then doing something interesting with.

I don't care what people say about you. there's a line that should never be crossed, but if it was you vs the govt, I'd put my money on them and no amount of culty pandering is going to change the outcome of that.

maybe it's unfair but that's like a betrayal that humanity has never had happen to us, but we all know they agree on the premise that there's some sort of political terrorism happening there.

like, what the actual fuck were you doing while all of this was going on in the company YOU co-founded? nvm. I found out.

Are Face Masks Effective? CBS News Explains What We Know

Are face masks effective in stopping virus transmissions? CBS News re-visited the question Sunday on its news show 60 Minutes by sending their chief medical correspondent to interview Linsey Marr, a professor who specializes in aerosol science at Virginia Tech University.
Here's a transcript from an excerpt posted on YouTube:

60 Minutes: Is there any doubt in your mind that masks prevent the person who's wearing it from getting Covid — or at least, are helpful?

Professor Marr: I would say they are very helpful in reducing the chances that the person will get Covid. Because it's reducing the amount of virus that you would inhale from the air around you.

It's not going to guarantee that it's going to protect you, because are masks are not 100% effective — we talk about N-95's being 95% efficient at filtering out particles, if they're properly fitted and everything, and so that's in an ideal world. But even so, if you — instead of breathing in 100 virsues, I'm breathing in 20, because my mask was 80% effective? That's a huge reduction, and that greatly reduces the chance that I'm going to become infected.

On the CBS News web site, they highlight this excerpt from the interview:
Early in the pandemic, some guidance from health professionals suggested that wearing a mask might actually lead to infection: A person might encounter a contaminated mask and then touch their eyes, nose, or mouth. But research in the ensuing years has shown that fear to be misplaced. "There wasn't any evidence really that that happens," Marr said.

Marr said her team aerosolized the coronavirus, pulled it through a mask, and then examined how much virus survived on the mask. The study reported some viral particle remained on some cloth masks, but no virus survived on the N95s or surgical masks. Marr's team also touched artificial skin to masks and looked at how many virus particles transferred to the artificial skin. No infectious virus transferred.
"I hope the study kind of shows that it's something we don't need to worry about as much as we were told," Marr said.

CBS gave their video interview the headline "Face mask effectiveness: What we know now" — and asked professor Marr for a definitive answer:

60 Minutes: There was a lot of controversy over whether or not masks worked at all. Were you able to show that they worked scientifically?

Professor Marr: We were able to show that they block particles that are the same size as those that carry the virus... What happens is the virus is being carried in the air, and it's not just going straight through those holes. It has to weave around all these layers of fibers in there. As the air is going around the curves, the virus may crash into one of those fibers, and so then it's trapped, or maybe it comes up close to the fiber and brushes against it. And the really small particles, like the virus by itself if it were by itself, would be small enough that it undergoes these random motions, because it's getting bounced around by the gas molecules, and it ends up crashing into the fibers of the mask too.

So there was accumulating evidence — and there had been kind of a handful of papers before that, too, showing the same thing. That masks — even cloth masks — do something.

But you are an athlete

Maybe a beginner athlete but still…. An athlete

Penance to pay if not complete

Ok. Yes, that's great but maybe no tee shirt and a bikini top instead. You know, why not!!!

Old guy is still on his spot, seeing his eyes today I think he is if not blind so then very close…

He got some pork soup from me this time, improvised as the last time, it was hot so I didn’t manage to get any pieces of meat out of it. Well at least what he got is very nourishing and maybe something that can kickstart his appetite :-) #dogstr

Wider War Will Bring Inevitable Attempts At Martial Law In America

Wider War Will Bring Inevitable Attempts At Martial Law In America

https://alt-market.us/wider-war-will-bring-inevitable-attempts-at-martial-law-in-america/

Not long ago at the height of fear over the global pandemic the US underwent a change that many people argued would never happen. For years I have heard people say that authoritarian controls in America are “tinfoil hat conspiracy theory” and doom mongering – All the prepping, all the talk of community organizing, all the guns and the gear and the training were for nothing.

Then…the covid agenda hit like a freight train.

Our constitutional rights were no longer set in stone, but mere guidelines that government officials could bend or break in the name of “public health safety.” Laws no longer had to be passed through a series of checks and balances; mandates could be implemented as if they were laws without public oversight and enforced unilaterally.

There was talk (primarily among Democrats) of https://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/partner_surveys/jan_2022/covid_19_democratic_voters_support_harsh_measures_against_unvaccinated
to segregate and lock up “vax deniers.”

It boggles the mind, but this was serious debate within the US and it was all triggered in the span of a year. Nearly half the country was willing to abandon the Bill of Rights over a virus with a survival rate of 99.8%. The conspiracy theorists were right all along; our freedoms rest on a razor’s edge and preparing to survive and fight for those freedoms is perfectly rational.

Luckily, the covid agenda failed. The mandates were ultimately blocked by red states and in many rural areas they were barely enforced at all. Biden’s vaccine passport attempt was stopped cold by the Supreme Court, but I have long believed that the Supreme Court made this decision exactly because of the level of public resistance.  They knew if they pressed the issue, civil war was on the table.

Medical authoritarianism collapsed because conservatives and independents were not onboard and they could not be shamed into compliance.

But what happens when there is a crisis that DOES scare conservatives? What happens when the political right perceives a true threat? Does freedom then become untenable?

Viruses frighten progressives (most things frighten progressives), but what frightens conservatives?

Well, it’s not a hard fast rule, but generally speaking conservatives are most disturbed by the threat of invasion. Ask any conservative if they were worried about covid or worried about the crisis on the southern border during the pandemic and the vast majority of them would say the border without hesitation. Conservatives fear cultural infiltration and co-option, they fear the steady and deliberate whittling away of their American heritage and by extension their freedoms by alien impostors. And, they fear the certain blitzkrieg of the US by organized terrorism should the borders remain open.

The question is, are they willing to assuage their fears by sacrificing the very freedoms they want to protect?

In 2001 after 9/11, the conservative movement was a much different animal than it is today. This was pre-Ron Paul and pre-Libertarian influence. The Neo-cons ruled the roost and had far reaching power over public perception, making the push for the dismissal of constitutional rights unprecedented. The Patriot Act mentality was widespread and the thirst for war was palpable. I have seen conservatives stray from the Bill of Rights in the past in the name of fighting against a possible invasion.  I remember this vividly.

Today, the elements in play are not the same as 2001. Anyone who argues otherwise was likely a child during the 9/11 era or has a skewed understanding of the changes that have taken place among conservatives since those days. The Ron Paul movement changed a lot for the better, but primarily within the conservative constituency. Regular people changed their thinking on what it means to trade liberty for security. The GOP? It’s a pipe dream to think we could ever completely change the GOP.  At least covid proved we have allies at the state and local level

The real problem is in the old guard of Neo-cons still influencing the path of the Republican Party. These are people who happily ally with Democrats behind the scenes, they have close ties to establishment elites and their loyalty rests in the hands of globalists. If the globalists want war, then the Neo-cons want war and they will do anything to get it, including create it. That’s how it works.

And this time around I think they’re going to get what they want. The Ukraine event failed to lure Americans into supporting direct intervention (a majority of Americans don’t even support funding for Ukraine), but Israel is another matter. There are very old and tribal implications than pull on the souls of conservatives when it comes to the conflicts in the Middle East. There are religious factors, yes, but I suspect this is overblown by critics who think evangelicals are running the show. This is not reality.

The Christian mandate has nowhere near the same influence it did back in 2001. In fact, churches have become so weak that they are now being overtaken by LGBT infiltration and trans activism. This never would have been tolerated 20 years ago – They would have tarred and feathered such activists back then. If this sort of thing is being allowed to happen right in our backyards today then you can be damn sure that religion is not the driving force for war overseas.

No, when it comes to Israel and the implications of war the concern is once again rooted in cultural erasure. To be fair, it’s not a paranoid delusion.  Western culture is in fact being systematically dismantled and mass immigration is a part of that agenda. It’s also true that Islamic ideology is completely incompatible with western beliefs including the concept of individualism. Muslim systems are authoritarian in nature, that is what Sharia Law is.

So, when conservatives see the potential for the fall of Israel they associate this with the fall of the west, and they will seek to stop it if they can. Beyond Israel is the concern that an invasion of Muslim extremists is already well underway in the US with open border policies becoming the norm under Joe Biden. And here is where the trap is set…

Martial law in the US would only ever work if a majority of conservatives support it. This is a fact. Without our backing martial law will fail, just as the covid mandates failed. Keep in mind, Biden and his globalist friends have used every possible tactic to make martial law an inevitability. Economic instability and stagflation have created a spike in violent crime and looting. Mass illegal migration is dragging down state welfare systems and is creating a trend of cultural dilution. Open borders have allowed any number of possible foreign hostiles into the US.

In the midst of war the government desire to control information and public discourse will be at its apex.  However, as we have seen during covid and the Ukraine war, they have not proven effective at accomplishing this.  As long as the internet is in place it does not matter what kind of algorithms Big Tech applies to stifle the truth, the truth still finds a way.  This means that the establishment will have to pursue extreme measures that could only be achieved within a martial law environment.  I see this situation going one of two ways if the current geopolitical trend continues…

Option A:

A multi-front war breaks out in the Middle East including nations like Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and Yemen. Israel faces serious failure. The US is dragged into the war, or, Israel uses its nuclear arsenal to destroy the resources (including populations) of enemy nations, leading to the possible involvement of China and Russia, and thus, the US is still dragged in.

Riots and terror attacks become a regular occurrence in the US, not just initiated by Muslim extremist infiltrators but also leftists who have attached themselves to the cause.

A draft is initiated which conservatives support in the hopes that it will help dissolve the riots. The draft will sink millions of weak, soft zennials (including women) into a bloody quagmire that they have no capacity to adapt to.  Draft protests and riots become the norm, pushing conservatives to support even stricter enforcement.

Finally, martial law is announced, but the soldiers used on American soil to “protect us” from riots and terrorists will be primarily foreign nationals – Illegal migrants given an easy shot at citizenry if they join the military and put the boot down on dissenters, which they will gladly do because they have no cultural attachment to America or Americans. At this stage the constitution will essentially die.

Option B:

The war expands and Israel faces imminent destruction. Biden commits US naval forces to the fight along with ground troops, primarily Special Forces. He then calls for full deployment of US ground forces to the region, but in this scenario the majority of conservatives do not support the action, just as they did not support deployment to Ukraine.

Biden tries to implement a draft in order to force the momentum. Conservatives refuse to comply or allow their children to be sent to die in a foreign conflict. On this one issue, conservatives and leftists actually agree, even if it is for completely different reasons. The country is then hit with an endless series of terror attacks, each one presented as a reason why the public must back the war. Each attack is cheered by the leftist activists as an act of “decolonization.”

Conservatives see this ploy for what it is and still refuse to support the war, taking an “America First” position. Why fight overseas when it’s America that’s under duress?

Biden still attempts martial law. He offers automatic citizenship to illegal immigrants if they serve in the military and uses some of these troops as an occupation presence at home. Leftists don’t want to fight in the Middle East, but they do like to see migrants given easy citizenship and power. They defend the measure – They figure if the migrants fill the ranks of the military maybe they won’t be drafted.

Conservatives rebel, America enters either balkanization or civil war, or both. Patriots are accused of helping the enemies of the United States and are also labeled terrorists. From this point on, anything could happen.

I believe the Israeli trigger may be bigger than covid in terms of the potential global disaster and global tyranny that could unfold. If it continues to escalate and turns into a multi-regional conflict the chances of the fight coming back to America are high. Not just in terms of terrorism, but also in terms of civil unrest and war on our doorstep. If we support the war, martial law is a certainty. If we don’t support the war, martial law will be attempted but at least there are scenarios where it could fail.

I would argue that the only thing that will save America at this stage is the growth of the America First movement.

When we talk about America First, this includes not just American security but also American freedoms.

There is NO REASON why we can’t have both. If conservatives (and independents) get lured into WWIII, it will be the end.

Yeah, the kid is nine. How late was he staying up? And why the hell wasn’t the mother doing anything about him staying up late?

Yes, she’s bitching about him not waking up, but he’s a 9-year-old. It’s her job as a parent to fix this. Maybe start by moving the computer to the living room? Making sure that he goes to bed at a reasonable time? Make sure that he doesn’t have a cell phone that he can be on until 3:00 in the morning?

No, act like a giant fucking bitch and smash his digital Legos. That kid’s going to be 40 years old, and telling his kids, “Well, when I was your age, Grandma decided to destroy something that I spent over a year on just because I didn’t do exactly as she told me to.”

Human, maybe. Novel, yes.

I agree.

I enjoy the old fashioned formats still. Anytime you’re playing with good golfers in competition it’s fun.

But yes they do get tiresome with the same bunch.

We played a game called scotch this summer and it was my favourite of the summer.

There’s basically four categories for each hole:
- Closest to the pin (in regulation)
- Low score
- Low combined score
- Birdies

Played in teams of two.

Each category is worth $1 per hole and if you get all four in the same hole, it’s called an umbrella and it doubles!

Half ass explanation but you get the idea. Maybe I’ll do a video on it for the channel!

Our channel is The KNGDOM on YouTube and we’re on rumble now too.
