If you ever had the pleasure of meeting with people who studied/work in finance, like I assume those Linkedin folk you talk about here do, and who have a standing in their firm so they are not on the lower level of the company hierarchy, it pretty quickly gets pretty clear that their brain was re wired to serve the god called economy. They simply can’t escape the (il)logic of growth and capitalism. So the last paragraph of yours is very apt, and I can’t see many people move beyond this economic paradigm we find ourselves in, for now that is.
