One of the things I noticed very early on when dealing with VP level folks in large corporations was the difference between UK and US regulatory compliance. The US compliance was training material, lawyers and an actual concern about accidentally bribing someone, or failing to report excess profit on a government contract, shipping stuff to the wrong country, or getting a huge tripled fine for doing bad stuff. The UK compliance was "meh?"
