I am saying that the difference between pubky and nostr rn is the second step in the search, which comes down to DHT vs specified relay. I am not sure the advantage is big enough. Also, correct me if I am wrong, but why would nodes in the DHT store that information in the first place? Isn't it a bit free riding?
