fishsticks makes good points, one needs money to bother making a lot of art especially full time. There are good artists but they are what's called 'commercial illustrators' and they work for game/movie corps as concept artists and key artists, most mass art is shit.
Incidentally, and I feel freer to say this on poast and wouldn't say it on twatter, most of the artists in my sphere are shit. They are not well-practiced nor are they particularly visionary. I am not the next coming of Caravaggio but art is like any skill, one cannot call oneself a marksman because he owns a DMR, he must train with it to become a marksman, and the same goes for art.
I intend to publish an artbook at the end of the year but I don't forsee making a great deal of money from it, and I release most of my artworks online so anyone can share them. My next project probably will make a lot more money but yes, infratstructure takedowns like what happened to KF et al are a concern. However, as we have moved through this civilizational collapse, there have been some new services created to go around the bullshit, and I predict more will be created.
