Talented western artists are a dying breed and it's not going to recover for at least 30 years without some ultra rich dude bankrolling artists forcing them to step up their game. Zoomers and younger don't give a shit about how things are made, in part because all modern media sucks and they aren't exposed to the classics as a group. Why should they? They're too short term consumption brained to care and their influences are all cannibalistic in nature in part due to their lack of interaction with the real world. That's why they can't copy anime well as a group. They're getting 100% of their influence from anime and it fucking sucks because they both don't have traditional art backgrounds (which is next to impossible to get now and you have next to no reason to get unless you really care about art, which most artists don't, or you want to draw porn and make money off of it), they're not Japanese/fundamentally cannot understand them as a people, in part because they don't care about the who and how of anything as. a group like previous generations, and they don't draw inspiration from real life, which is fundamental to good art, because they are isolated, spiritually devoid of human interaction due to a lack of life experience they won't get.
So ontop of the issue that the artists aren't there due to cultural factors, the ones that can make this art are better off making low effort furry porn to legions of fans on patreon. You can easily make 10k a month doing this if you're even slightly skilled and you're good at marketing. Ontop of that, even if you push through and don't make furry porn, the issue is fudimentally, the content distribution platforms for art isn't at a point for anything that isn't porn right now. Who pays a guy on patreon to read issues from one guy's ongoing comic? The main reason why Japanese comics, porn or naught, can succeed is due to their method of distributing comics (gigantic magazines that come with like 20 different chapters of different comics with articles and one shots included or independent doujin sold at comic cons, which is leagues better than shitty art prints westerners sell), both mainstream and independent and their autistic levels of craft that western artists have failed to pass down (this is because of every artistic industry failing all at the same time (speculation on my part), kicking out all expensive old timers, and only hiring retards from tumblr. Happened to both western comics and cartoons in the united states specifically). So even if one of our guys goes above and beyond and makes masterpiece, which the only person I'm even aware of that's even trying and doing well, DRAWTHENTIC (npub1lkn…j46l) , getting people to even buy his art is an uphill battle without a wealthy financial backer funding him from the back end. At the very least, we do have some right-wing publishing houses, which is a lot better for us than anyone nonpolitical trying this, but they aren't tooled for monthly/regular releases needed for comics or art, which shows in their apparent failure to release paper back versions of raw egg nationalist's magazine opting for annuals that cut a lot of the content.
