It's a bit complicated but the Italian you can listen to is a scholastic version, with as few regional accents as possible. On the other hand the southern Italian accent, especially from Sicily, Rome and Naples, is over-represented in movies and series... but every region of Italy has a distinctive accent and the sound of the language can change, a lot.",
