I’m still stuck on the discord undrama, and I’m still desperately trying to figure out *why.*
I haven’t done anything new: yesterday we declined the invite and I dm’d the leader. His response, basically, was “we have no right to interfere with how someone lives their life,” and I get that. I’ve been friends with addicts and dumbasses. (I have in fact been those things before!) But I think the line in the sand for my friendship with an alcoholic is when they start driving drunk and putting others at risk. And it feels like this friend group is just listening and considering the offer as he explains how he’s not that drunk and he’ll drive everybody to Taco Bell.
God dammit. October is never a kind month, but emotionally, this is the worst in decades.
