She’s not saying all that, she’s just saying that her life is unaffordable and she doesn’t see when that will get better. She doesn’t see how to play her hand. She’s not laying blame or suggesting solutions. She’s not angry at anyone, just sad.

The boomers have hoarded all the real estate in the society and intend to rent it to the millennials in order to fund their opulent retirements (despite the mathematical challenge of a declining population - there just aren’t enough young people coming up behind the boomers to pay their bills).

Can’t get ahead without working hard, but just working hard isn’t always enough.
