Some notes about my walkies' "privacy codes":
* They're not private at all. It sounds like a password, but if you use code 0 (off), you hear EVERYTHING.
* It's variously called, in the packaging and manual, as privacy codes, interference blocking codes, and sub codes. The second is a mouthful, but most apt, and the first is highly misleading.
* It uses two schemes: CTCSS (one low frequency tone) and DCS (low freq digital octal), and it switches at 39.
