The 'planets' are holes/flaws in the negative.
This image was taken in full sunlight. Fenceposts and buildings are casting shadows. Light is far more diffuse in twilght and objects really don't cast shadows.
As I manipulate the image histogram, I concur that the 'distant high terrain' is distant clouds...some sort of stratus, not cumulus.
That gives us far less to go on for geolocation.
