Pretty much exactly what I was talking to my mum about in regards to a friend. She's dealing with eating disorders, drinking, making bad relationship decisions etc, and my logic brain tells me to tell her how she can fix these things, but the knowledge that she doesn't want fixes, just an ear, means that I basically have to let her suffer and deal with this until she's really ready to fix things. Shes making the choice to suffer rather than facing the difficult realities of her life.
