Exactly. Much like phishing. It’s always going to happen. It does require a bit of common sense. I suppose it’s more of a dilemma here between security and decentralisation. One could consider speed in how P2P verification could work here - “reputable” accounts could ultimately offer the same risk. Unless we’d put it all on jb55 (npub1xts…kk5s) 😂 ultimately it could be the number of people verifying. But then you’re asking someone to show an ID - which could still be faked - like say a deep fake video call (ultimately). There’s always have to be a compromise and thinking about decentralisation and web3 - we’re going to have to get used to some of these new problems. I think relying on community reporting here works well as a form of decentralised mitigation don’t you think? I’m loving it! 😍
