The point was that I'm curious to know how the trilemma (not sure I got that part) could be solved without relying on owning another account that can itself easily be impersonated.
For examples, you might have seen the note from the guy trying to sell all the TLDs associated with Damus to resell them, it would be easy for someone to acquire a reasonably credible TLD for Damus and use it to try to impersonate the Damus app. Any phishing email is also a good example here I think.
Also, not that many people have a DNS or intend on owning their own DNS, it is not an easy task for an internet user and I don't think it should be a requirement to verify one's ID.
