If the stuff was that important to her, she’d have been making enough of a fuss that they would have arranged something (eg: clearance firm bringing it out for her to sort through in the garden) long before now.
It sounds more like she’d actually moved most stuff out before it happened and/or the insurance company had replaced everything of value. Otherwise, what have they been wearing / eating off / sleeping on / etc for the last six months?
