IMO in an ideal world, if you send a "please do this ASAP" message on Friday afternoon (assuming the typical M-F work week of course) you have to be prepared for "ASAP" to be Monday morning 😛 But of course the real world often doesn't align with that ideal... If it's really not possible to get people to accept that those emails will sit around until the next week, but you can get them to wait until Monday to send the messages in the first place, then yeah, that is a totally reasonable strategy.
