npub1jvrgz7wf9fwftcqppnpyjplltlkcuwghc0pqf9wv3x8ds5zq5t4qmh8tkt (npub1jvr…8tkt) as a former googler in search, I 100% agree. It's not a practical way to gather data and it's not even that effective -- the error rate is super high even on "ok google" searches! Other signals are much better.
(I recently retooted someone who made all these arguments, and also pointed out the futility of doing so).
I have no doubt that people like these marketers (who are non-technical and *outside* of the big tech companies) think it's a great idea and would love to build it.
