I always initialize all influence scores to zero, with the exception of the logged-in user (I sometimes call the “seed user” or “anchor user”) whose influence score is fixed and defined at 1.
Regarding the factor of 100: this is to be consistent with the proposed NIP-77.
So in this implementation, I’m interpreting a follow as a score of 100, but at some point that needs to be normalized by dividing by 100. IOW, a follow is interpreted as meaning “this user should be afforded about the same amount of attention as any other randomly selected non-bot user.”
