The part of social anxiety that I don't often hear about is how it got that way.

I don't have a sure answer on my part, but probably something about being neurodivergent and thus a bit sensitive, and often being dismissed or rejected bluntly in various social situations, both at home and at school.

You learn to fear people if they keep hurting you all the time.
