What I've noticed in our cloud forest climate is that air circulation is incredibly important. Do you have a way to position your dry area so as to channel any air flow or drafts that naturally occur? We are on an exposed hill, for example and the way our house and porch areas trap air currents helps a lot for drying things even on more humid days. Just a thought.
