I would like to read your recommendation, and to learn more about Margaret Archer, who I believe you've mentioned to me before, but I am really struggling to read anything much longer than an article these days, courtesy of my much atrophied attention span.
Regarding shifting attitudes, I've encountered people who, like you, are less misanthropic and believe that there will inevitably come a social tipping point, and that things will organically, rapidly improve. All I can say is that I would genuinely like to be proved wrong.
I personally think there's no way to avoid collapse at this point, and I've resigned myself to that. I applaud those who are trying to make a difference nonetheless, and against all odds, e.g. JSO
