Fine for showering, won’t kill you too quickly to cook with it, but you don’t want to drink it for taste alone, let alone high arsenic levels.
RO is the simplest way to go, regardless of the waste. I fully agree that it’s not the right answer for most places. This is the oilfield though, the water is sketchy and constantly changing. RO catches all of it.
