A lot of this is informed by like A/B tests. Same show, same venue, same tech, same backline. Local band sounds bad, and crowd is lackluster. Unknown but experienced touring band gets up, CRANKS, their amps, plays ripping and the room moves, the room goes wild. The energy explodes. I want more local bands to get that response, bit locally when they are the unknown band in another city. They deserve it but I feel simple sound considerations are sometimes holding them back!
