L0la L33tz (npub1mzn…6mak) What was once intended to be a money without state is, by many, now argued to be a money for the state. No longer do we want to spread ourselves across the planet, so that no one can arrest our thoughts.
What we actually want, it seems, is to incorporate in Delaware, build mining facilities in rural Texas, and dream of making it big on the New York Stock Exchange — only to eventually end up in jail for compliance failures.
In the latest BM print issue, I wrote about Trump's plans to make the US the "mining capital of the world", and the consequences this would have on Bitcoin's use as permissionless money, looking at recent comments made by regulators and mining execs on how to implement sanctions on Bitcoin.
