The rabbits in the rabbit colony cannabis garden are thriving.
It seems that everything project on the homestead is providing a huge meal for the rabbits in the cannabis garden lately.
We have been experimenting with waiting longer to harvest. Before we were worried about over population but the cannabis garden is so large it can support more rabbits than we thought. However, with winter coming, it's going to be time to harvest all that are good size soon.
Since we have been feeding them so much, there hasn't been as much fighting amongst the males. Maybe they are fighting less because they have made more burrows which are more well spread out in the colony too. This system has performed very well for us this year so far. I can't wait to tally up the total amount of cannabis and rabbits meat it produced.

quoting nevent1q…4pjwPollarding the "weed" trees in the food forest
Inevitably, unwanted trees grow wild in the food forest but instead of cutting them down entirely to remove them, I pollard them. By pruning the tree back to the main trunk, I get food for the rabbits. If I kill the tree, okay but if it lives then it will grow even more food for the rabbits next season.
I do the same practice with the seedling apple trees that get too large to use as grafting rootstock. I didn't realize how convenient planting them next to the rabbit colony would be. Each year I cut all the branches of each of the trees and toss them into the rabbits. Each year the apple trees have more branches to cut.
