They absolutely have super powers to deeply understand things that interest them. While I can spread my attention across many things I don’t have the ability to have that laser focus. It’s impressive but the other side of that coin makes it hard to navigate the way society is laid out so it’s a “disorder.” The name isn’t even accurate for what the differences are in the brain but it just stays in the DSM.
