Instead it seems there are a lot of people who see leadership roles in a very different way. To them these roles confer power to the worthy. They have deep significance, and are defined by the man who takes on those roles.
Maybe both extremes are unrealistic but one is much more dangerous.
I think we should strive to make leadership roles well defined enough that the personality and person in them simply matters much much less.
