There's only a handful of high VRAM GPUs, so it's worth the effort.
You shouldn't conflate cross platform with portable. The former doesn't really exist, as you need to write lots of OS-specific configs and code, and portability always kills performance as seen in language VMs (even LLVM).
If you wanna rewrite a Flutter app in C, that's okay. I won't try to understand. 😀 To me, phones are just a thin client for proper compute.
