To the question though, demographics certainly aren’t on the side of the Chinese, or the Japanese or the Koreans or a host of other Asian nations. Still, we are speaking of a demographic issue that is still decades away.
For the Chinese, as I see it, the issue is readily recognized. It is one of the primary reasons why robotics is an industrial priority. The thinking is that automation will go great distance to addressing any population issue in the future. China is in the middle of a material economic shift with dislocations abound. How all of this will play out is anyone guess.
