I've never seen any evidence of this. In the United States at least rich people control every aspect of policing. It functions entirely for their benefit.

Rich people can't exist without police to protect their wealth and their continued ability to expropriate value from others. The disproportionate political power of the rich also requires police. Without the police there'd be no disproportionate power to abuse, no rich people to abuse it.

You seem to be imagining that it would be possible to abolish the police and have all other social structures remain in place. Police abolition would trigger unimaginable social changes, including the end of capitalism.
