I very much agree for smaller work groups that cloud / shared compute isn't needed.
I also encourage smaller groups to be the main unit of organization in any org. Design your teams like functions. They do a thing, do it well, and have defined inputs and outputs to report with other groups / bubble up information through the org chart.
Deno seems pretty cool. One of these days I need to actually try messing with it. I don't do JS basically ever, now.
