For the record, I don’t think you are going to stop a lion or bear with a handgun easily. I’m aware that bear spray is an option but I don’t carry that either. They often do stalk humans and I have first hand experience with how hard it is to scare them away. But no, I’m not packing and I’m not scared to go be out here alone in the dark with no weapons.
