If religion didn't exist far less people would be likely to belive in faith based beliefs since religion is the largest proponent of faith in the world. Every example that you provided (MAGA and the Nazis) were/are heavily religious and used/use religion and faith to convince people convince people to act out the atrocities they commited, from the alliance of the Catholic Church and the Nazis to the Christian Nationalist movement attached to the MAGA movement.
