We forked some of their assembly for integrating it into Scudo to make a much better implementation for hardened_malloc with stronger security properties. We reused their work on integrating it into the Linux kernel directly for the time being and will be improving the implementation later. The key part is that we're willing to deploy it and pay the small memory / performance cost.
