Mostly so I know whats happening when things break and can let my clients know. They dont mind things breaking, they mind not knowing what and for how long it'll be broken.
Unfortunately the market here is tilted heavily to the incumbents and dominated by the NBN (whom control most of the last-mile in the country) and so building around that at a smallish scale would make each internet connection prohibitively expensive to run.
