In 1987, the new macs with ADB (the Apple Desktop Bus, USB's grandpappy) and ADB keyboards got control keys added, but they were NEVER USED. The control key was only there for DOS emulation, and while they did technically work, I don't recall a *single* classic mac app that used control. All keybinds were command, optionally with shift, optionally with option.
