quoting note1gp0…dt82This isn’t really aimed at a Nostr audience but I wrote it so may as well post it…
In all honesty sure tax the rich but the likelihood of that money being used to help people or lift us out of poverty is slim at best.
UK Gov can do some phat weapons deals though and kill a whole bunch of motherfuckers in the Middle East and Eastern Europe.
WW1 bankrupted the British Empire and the debt wasn’t repaid for a century, plus all them dead people etc. (much sad, let’s lay a wreath and dress up nice). Economic conditions and the debt burden placed on Germany for reparations lead to the rise of Hitler and WW2. That was fun, wasn’t it?! I mean Brian Ferry wouldn’t have his Hugo Boss suits for a start…
WW3 will bankrupt the US/Russia/China/UK/Germany etc. but will be great for banks to balance the books. Oh and maybe everyone dies but more likely just people in countries relatively far away (unless you’re in Ukraine, Middle East, Taiwan etc).
Fact is when great powers need to balance the books, they do it by killing a whole bunch of mother fuckers like you and me. The same situation has played out over and over again through history.
Tax the rich but they’ll always find ways to avoid it, it’s not like they’re sitting there with piles of cash. The right accounting can show they have no income or money at all. Meanwhile they have all the stonks, gold, bitcoin and own your house/flat lol.
Build new systems they can’t game to build insane wealth. There are so many ways the rich protect and grow their wealth, a lot of it in cunty ways for sure. It’s not like they made a thing, everyone liked the thing, bought the thing and got rich. That will get you so far but nowhere near the super wealthy category.
For example Elno Moss gets huge amounts of government money to fund Tesla and Space X. Therefor if we tax him more, we kill some more motherfuckers and our lives get a bit shitter. Cool!
Or take ‘Libertarian’ Peter Thiel who happily takes money from any government to furnish them with the latest in surveillance and death tech. What a guy!
These people love governments because they can extract huge amounts of capital from them. In the UK £600 billion was creating during Covid and the government distributed it… to their friends and business contacts. Meanwhile I got £200 from the musicians union, I mean that did help pay the rent but still, that’s all that came my way and still most of that £600 billion is unaccounted for?!
Voting for change makes no difference. It certainly hasn’t in the UK and the US looks much the same, as far as I can tell.
Writing to my MP and voting every 4 years doesn’t hasn’t anchieved anything. Even massive marches haven’t achieved anything. My MP says she sympathises with the Palestinian people and cares like so deeply about it, doing a massive sad and everything, while her voting record tells a different story.
They do what the person paying for the fancy lunch tells them to do. “Ooh met that lovely man from Enron at The Groucho Club today, was such a lovely meal and the wine was amazing! Saw a homeless person outside, I did an extra big sad for them, so pity. Anyway, I should vote so that he can get that big contract we have to dig up Wales”
You think any of them have your back? Fuck.
I think targeting the banks is a better way. All my government does is fund bombing my family in Lebanon. Fuck that, I don’t want more of that, I want the government to go broke so they can’t do that anymore. What if we didn’t pay them at all but used that money in our own communities instead? I mean the USA currently has a senile old man in charge, soon to be replaced by possibly the world’s biggest bellend. They average bottle of wine they drink costs more than I earn in a month.
I don’t know the answer but I know ‘tax the rich’ is basic. There has to be a better way to address the problem.
And before anyone says I’m just trying to avoid taking part in society, that’s bollocks. I’m saying this fully aware of the wealth imbalance and I’m a fucking broke honky fucker in the UK on £20k a year which actually puts me in very good standing on a global scale, even when living hand to mouth each month.
We need to fuck all these fuckers up in the fucking fuck. Cheap slogans ain’t gonna save us. Build from the ground up.
Actually as cheap slogans go, fuck all the fuckers up in the fucking fuck is pretty good, even if I do say so myself. It’s better than tax the rich.
Believe or not, I think things can be better than they are now…

Ps. Do what you can to build up your own communities, I’m sure most of you do already.
Pps. This isn’t so much a woe is me post, more a fuck them kind of vibe. :80sPhillCollins:
