Cat poni, Whorseman of Apocalypse (npub1vse…v7q2) The first thing can be worked around by having an extra "shared" calendar where you invite your main contact and then use attendance to mark it paid/unpaid. (In practice I'd just set up a recurring task in Google Tasks but many people understandably avoid Google even for things it has a track record of doing well and financial incentive not to fuck up too badly.)
The second, yeah, your want extra support for that, which there is in both Outlook and Google Calendar, but not sure how it maps to iCal. But it's a proof that the iCal model doesn't prevent them from implementing it.
