it took me years after i left my abusive ex until i started describing what he did as abuse.
i don't know if that person was abused by that guy or not, and that's not relevant at all. because at that stage, the situation was not distinguishable from one with abuse. and there was no solidarity or ""awareness"". zero.
just as in any other nerd/hacker space i have ever set foot in.
they do not give a fuck.
and so my interest in the whole free software thing mostly went away. why would i engage with a community that is more than happy to lose its most vulnerable members so they can go back to being assholes in peace?
