I like the way you’re thinking. Just found your account. Honestly, I find it’s a combination of the lack of multiple communities throughout the clients as to why people are not staying. It’s not ‘cool’ enough quite yet. And the knowledge barrier to entry seems to slow the pace of onboarding. I would consider stability or very slight growth a net positive for where we are.

Most the people that find their way here have already discovered bitcoin. And there seems to be an echo chamber on Nostr. Almost like we came here because we’re into corn, but the lack of ease and general knowledge one must acquire to participate if they’re not already involved in bitcoin or crypto makes normies heads explode. Thus - we’re having a hard time building communities of artists, teachers, police officers, firefighters, or chefs and bartenders…. Because of the barrier to entry and the lack of multiple communities/interests once onboarded. (We’re all here because we study bitcoin, but there’s far more to life.)

In general, I think people who like to pay for things in cash today are the people who will truly benefit from bitcoin once they discover it. Unfortunately the ones in that portion of the economy will most likely be the last to, and by the time it hits the laggards we will have moved beyond questioning the sustainability of nostr.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts with the world.
