basically what im getting with this is:
out of the box, the Sony WH-1000MX5 is designed for niggerbeats in mind. if you listen to drake or niggertier beats like that, you will enjoy them out of the box.
if you enjoy any kind of mix of music avoid these. in my experience switching between carpenter brut, eagles, madonna and emo girl tier music like post malone it struggled to replicate the music of artists produced in older genres.
if I put a custom tune on the headphones based on what I expect, I can easily recplicate the sounds of the Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Box Tops based on reference materials I have and can compare to they are exactly as I would expect.
tldr, if you like nigger beats these are OK -- there are stronger bass heavy headphones on the market like the skullcrusher evos that leak so much audio they can actually make a cup of water tremble at bass
i am hesitant to tie my name to it, but the wh-1000kxm5 headphones definitely pack the audiophile punch you need if you can spend the time to tune them every time you select an album. the ability for them to cover everything without ever specific tune makes them really not worth it in my opinion. not at 500 CAD even on sale.
